Description
Más y Más: Electronic pop LP released by Fonomusic in 1990
This self-titled album showcases the work of the Madrid duo Más y Más, formed by Jesús Yanes and Marisa Sardina in late 1989. The original release came out on Fonomusic in 1990 and contains ten songs divided between sides A and B. The combination of synthesizers, vocals, and danceable rhythms places it firmly within the Spanish electronic pop and disco scene of the turn of the decade. This is not a 2011 reissue: this information refers to the original Fonomusic LP.
Musical genre: electronic pop and dance music.
LP Repertoire
The list that identifies this edition is:
Side A
- Keep dancing (Marcia dances)
- Je t'aime moi non plus
- Nights of wild rhythm
- Cut my hair
- Hawaii
Side B
- Cowboy
- Our bodies soaked
- Jonah
- Maria
- My love machine
The selection alternates original songs by the duo with covers. Among the latter is "Je t'aime moi non plus," composed by Serge Gainsbourg and popularized by Jane Birkin and Gainsbourg in their recording. "Sigue bailando (Marcia baila)" is based on the well-known composition by Les Rita Mitsouko. The rest of the repertoire includes songs in Spanish and English, such as "Cowboy" and "My Love Machine." The ten tracks listed here are from the LP, without including any additional mixes released later.
Jesus Yanes and Marisa Sardina
Before forming Más y Más, Jesús Yanes and Marisa Sardina had played together in Los Ratones. In the new project, Yanes contributed vocals, guitar, and keyboards, while Sardina also contributed vocals and keyboards. The duo recorded their album during September and October of 1990 at Doublewtronics Studios. This LP remained their only full-length release; in 2011, Warner reissued the material with new mixes, a later edition that should be distinguished from the copy offered here. You can consult the Biographical and discographical review of Más y Más.
