Description

Salvatore Adamo – Gold Seeker: Hispavox LP from 1987

Gold digger This is a Salvatore Adamo album released in Spain by Hispavox in 1987, in a special edition for Círculo de Lectores. The back cover identifies the catalog number 590 24 0716 1 and indicates that the original recording was made in Belgium by Night Music SPRL in 1986. It also credits Adamo as the author of both lyrics and music, and Carlos Toro as responsible for the Spanish adaptation. Therefore, the year of this Spanish edition is 1987, although the original recording indicated on the sleeve dates from 1986.

The album features ten songs in Spanish, five tracks per side. On the back cover, several titles appear alongside their corresponding French titles. This detail allows listeners to identify both the tracklist of the Spanish edition and the names of the original compositions. Based on its format and repertoire, it falls within the genre of melodic song and vocal pop in Spanish.

The release coincides with Adamo's return to the Spanish market with songs in Spanish after a decade without recording in that language, according to an interview published in 1987. This reference provides context for this LP: it is not a compilation of his hits from the sixties, but an album of songs selected for the Spanish public. The liner notes retain the information found on the sleeve itself and distinguish between the recording date and the release date.

Edition and visible status

The photographs show the sleeve protected by a transparent plastic film. However, they do not allow us to confirm whether it is the original seal or to examine the vinyl or its reproduction. Therefore, we only describe what can be seen in the images and do not attribute any condition or functionality to the record that has not been verified. The back cover does allow us to read the track listing, credits, the Hispavox label, and the catalog number.
