From zarzuela to cinema

The film was directed by José Luis García Sánchez, with a screenplay by Rafael Azcona and the director himself. The film is based on the zarzuela by Vicente Lleó, with librettos by Perrín and Palacios, and combines comedic scenes with musical numbers. The official ICAA (Spanish Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts) record documents the year of production and the cast, which includes Ana Belén and Antonio Banderas. The press of the time indicates that Luis Cobos composed the musical adaptation and that vocalists and orchestral musicians participated.

The back cover credits the Orquesta Sinfónica Popular and Cobos as director and producer. This description distinguishes the soundtrack from the original zarzuela and other recordings of the work: it is the music associated with the 1985 film. The vinyl is listed as used. A listening test has not been confirmed, so noise-free playback is not guaranteed; the photographs allow for an assessment of the visible condition of the outer sleeve.
